Silver and Enamel Swallow Pendant

Enamelled swallow on deep cobalt blue background pendant on fine silver belcher chain

Made from recycled silver and vitreous enamel. The swallow is formed with fine silver wire and the coloured finely ground enamel is build up in layers with successive firings until the wires and enamel are at a similar height. The surface is then ground down until everything is flush and then the pendant is re-fired.
This swallow pendant features a pale blue swallow on a deep cobalt blue background background. It is a rough oval shape and the oval measures just over 1.5cm across and is 1.2cm top to bottom, the chain is 45 cm (18") long.
