Silver and Enamel Swallow Pendant

Enamelled swallow pendant on fine silver belcher chain

Made from recycled silver and vitreous enamel. The swallow is formed with fine silver wire and the coloured finely ground enamel is build up in layers with successive firings until the wires and enamel are at a similar height. The surface is then ground down until everything is flush and then the pendant is re-fired. The nearly black swallow is flying over a pale blue background. The pendant is approx. 1.8cm across and the chain is 45 cm (18") long.
