These silver enamelled earrings are inspired by the fresh early Spring growth of hawthorn.
The Britannia silver was cut out by hand with a saw and then the veins were hand engraved into the surface. They were then shaped to have a gentle convex shape. Two different shades of green enamel were prepared and applied to the the silver and fired in a kiln.
The hooks and silver discs were made and attached to the leafy shapes.
The earrings measure approx 4cm from the top of the silver disc to the bottom of the leaf shape and measure approx 1cm across.
The two earrings are a pair, but they are not the same shape as each other. This is like the hawthorn leaves that were the inspiration.
