Silver jewellery one day workshop- Saturday 18th January 2020
One day small group workshop for beginners or those with some experience of jewellery making
One day introductory course in making silver jewellery. This day is designed for people with little or no experience of silver jewellery making. Learn about basic tools, workshop practice and traditional jewellery techniques for working in silver.
You can expect to make and finish a simple band ring in the morning and then move on to learning to texture metals and cut out sheet silver to make a pendant or a pair of earrings in the afternoon.
The workshops are held at my studio in Mortimer, near Reading in Berkshire.
The size of the class is small, so you will have plenty of individual attention.
The time is 10am - 4.00pm (with a half hour break for lunch)
All tools are provided and the fee covers the cost of materials for the first project of making a silver ring. In the afternoon you will go on to make either a pair of earrings or a pendant in silver and the silver for this will be charged at cost, The cost varies as to how big a piece you make but it is likely to be in the region of £5.00 - £15.00.
Following booking you will be sent an email with directions and details of what to bring. You will also be provided with teas, coffees and snacks. Bring your own packed lunch.
Students with jewellery making experience are welcome to book on this course, please get in touch after booking to discuss what projects you would like to make.
