One day introductory course in making silver jewellery. This day is designed for people with little or no experience of silver jewellery making. Learn about basic tools, workshop practice and traditional jewellery techniques for working in silver.
You can expect to make and finish a simple band ring in the morning and then move on to learning to texture metals and cut out sheet silver to make a pendant or a pair of earrings in the afternoon.
For those with some experience the day willl be tailored to your level.
The workshops are held at my studio in Mortimer, near Reading in Berkshire.
The group size is small, so you will have plenty of individual attention.
The time is 10am - 4.00pm (with a half hour break for lunch)
All tools are provided and the fee covers the cost of materials for the first project, additional silver is charged at cost.
Please note that this course is for adults. Under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult who would need to also be booked onto the workshop.
Following booking you will be sent an email with directions and details of what to bring. You will also be provided with teas, coffees and snacks. Bring your own packed lunch.
This day is also suitable for people who already have some jewellery making experience. Please contact Cathy with any projects you have in mind before the workshop so we can be sure that all materials can be available.
